Instructions for use of the herbicide Grenadier, consumption rates and analogues

Grenadier is a systemic herbicide that is used to control unwanted vegetation in grain crops. The drug destroys all enemies of wheat, barley, sunflower. Weeds are completely lost in just one treatment. Active substances do not accumulate in the soil, quickly disintegrate, and are not found in the main cereals. The herbicidal agent has selective activity, acts only on weeds.

Composition, purpose and form of release of the drug Grenadier

The herbicidal agent is used to destroy weeds on crops of grain crops and sunflowers. It is used against chamomile, cruciferous plants, dandelion, thistle, poppy, thistle and other weeds that take away nutrients from the main crops.

The active substance is tribenuron-methyl. The preparation dissolved in water during spraying penetrates into weeds and destroys them at the cellular level. The systemic herbicide has a selective activity, it fights only against annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds that interfere with the growth of the main crops. The preparation does not work on the cereals themselves.

The herbicide is produced by Agrochemical Technologies (Ukraine). It is in the form of water-soluble granules, packed in plastic bottles weighing 500 grams.

The mechanism of action of the herbicide

The active substance - tribenuron-methyl - penetrates the weed plant through the leaves and roots. The grenadier acts on the enzymes responsible for cell division. Vegetation stops growing a few hours after irrigation. A week later, there are signs of necrosis, chlorosis. Weeds completely die after 2-3 weeks. The herbicide has a short-term residual effect, quickly degrades in the soil, therefore it is recommended to use it only for post-emergence treatment.

Advantages over analogues

The herbicidal agent Grenadier has the following advantages:

  • does not accumulate in the soil;
  • for the next season, planting of any crops is allowed;
  • is selective, does not harm main crops;
  • affects all main types of weeds;
  • compatible with various pesticides;
  • can be used at temperatures from 5 degrees Celsius.

Consumption rate for different plants

When preparing the solution, the following dosage is adhered to (at a working solution consumption of 200-300 l / ha):

  1. For winter cereals. The consumption of the drug is 0.020-0.025 kg / ha.
  2. For spring cereals. Herbicide consumption - 0.015-0.020 kg / ha.

How to prepare a working solution

The herbicidal agent is dissolved in a liquid before use. To prepare a working solution for spraying, take clean and soft water. If a sprayer is used to irrigate crops, then take such an amount of the drug that is needed for one tank filling.

First, a matrix solution is prepared in a bucket of water. The spray tank is half-filled with water and the dissolved herbicide is poured with the agitator on. Then add the rest of the water. If the Grenadier is used with other pesticides, this herbicide is added to the sprayer tank first, and then the rest of the preparations. The mixer must be turned on at the time of preparation of the solution and during spraying.

Application of grenadier herbicide

Instructions for the use of the herbicide

Irrigation of weeds is carried out in early spring, at an early stage of weed growth (in the phase of 3-4 leaves). Work must be carried out in calm weather or at a wind speed of no more than 6 m / s. It is best to spray weeds immediately after rain, when they are still wet. Herbicide treatment is carried out only once per season.

Spraying can be carried out using fine-dispersion sprayers. If other herbicides are poured into the tank of such a sprayer for integrated weed control, then the dosage of all drugs must be halved. Preliminary chemical agents must be checked for compatibility.

When spraying grain crops, care must be taken that the herbicide solution does not get on the vegetables nearby.

Precautions when working with the product

The herbicide is not toxic to humans, but you need to work with this chemical in a respirator or protective mask, rubber gloves, boots, and a protective suit. Do not inhale vapors and drink working solution. After field work, wash your hands and face with warm water and soap, rinse your mouth with soda solution.

Drug toxicity

The drug Grenadier is assigned the 3rd degree of danger. The herbicide is non-toxic to bees, but it is advisable not to use it during the active summer of these insects. It is forbidden to spray this product in the sanitary zone near the reservoirs in which the fish are bred. The drug quickly disintegrates in the soil, does not accumulate in the soil, does not pollute the environment.

Compatibility with other substances

The herbicide Grenadier is allowed to be used in tank mixtures together with preparations based on 2,4-d ichlorophenoxyacetic acid, dicamba or fluoroxypyr. Combined use of fungicides and insecticides is allowed.

If the main crop is under stress, the use of organophosphate insecticides is not allowed.

Expiration date and storage rules

The grenadier in a tightly closed original packaging can be stored at room temperature for 3 years after the date of manufacture. Do not use the herbicide after the expiration date. The grenadier should be kept in a separate storage area specially designated for storing pesticides.

The herbicide should be stored in a place protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The prepared solution cannot be stored for more than a day, it must be used immediately, and the residues must be poured outside the agricultural land.

Analogs

Similar drugs with a similar composition and principle of action are such herbicides: Granstar, Agrostar, Grand Plus, Caliber, Magnum, Status Grand, Himstar. Pesticides are used to treat grain crops and fight weeds without harming the main crops.
