Instructions for the use of the herbicide Gezagard, composition and form of release

The word "herbicide" takes roots from the Latin words: "coat of arms" - grass and "cid" - destruction. The herbicide Gezagard, with the instructions for use of which can be found below, was created to destroy weeds. It is divided into two types: continuous action (killing all types of weeds) and selective (selective - affecting one type of vegetation).

Composition and form of release of Gezagard

The product is released in the form of a suspension, poured into plastic cans with a volume of five to two hundred liters. The soil herbicide is often sold in small 100-300 gram bottles. Due to its functions, it not only kills weeds, but also protects potatoes, carrots, beans and other useful crops.

The composition of the herbicide Gezagard includes the active or active substance prometrin, which controls weeds. Weeds, dicotyledonous weeds, dandelions and other weeds react with the drug and die. A liter of suspension contains half a liter of the toxic chemical prometrine.

Response speed

The response rate of the drug is quite high. If you spray the soil before sowing cultivated seeds, then weeds will completely stop growing in this area. If used after sowing, the effects of the herbicide will last four to seven days. The leaves and roots of the weed will turn yellow, completely absorb the suspension and be destroyed by it.

Pros and cons of herbicide

Herbicide Gezagard has a lot of advantages. These include:

  • long term protection against weeds;
  • the ability to use at any temperature;
  • harmlessness to people, animals;
  • selective impact;
  • high response speed;
  • safety for cultivated plants;
  • harmlessness to soil microflora;
  • low consumption;
  • acceptable price.

The drug has practically no disadvantages, especially if the instructions are strictly followed during use.

Gezagard's drug

It is important! The main advantage of the Gezagard herbicide is its compatibility with other chemicals. This reduces the total number of sprays.

How to prepare a working solution?

After studying the instructions, you can easily prepare a working solution. You will need clean water without impurities, silt and clay inclusions. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Take a container, pour in half of the measured clean water.
  2. While stirring constantly, add the required amount of the drug.
  3. Stir the mixture thoroughly until the herbicide is completely dissolved.
  4. Add the rest of the water and stir again.

It is recommended to prepare a working solution for one treatment, and the preparation process itself should be carried out immediately before using the product.

Consumption rates

Each crop has its own consumption rates. The usual spraying dosage is based on a liter per hectare.

For potatoes

For everyone's favorite potatoes, soil cultivation is carried out before planting the tubers, or after the first leaves of annual dicotyledonous and cereal weeds appear. One hectare of land will need from 200 to 300 liters of Gezagard herbicide.

For carrots

The crop also suffers from weeds such as dicotyledonous annuals and grasses. You will need 200-300 liters of working fluid per hectare of land. Spraying is carried out before planting the tubers or after the first weeds appear. Carrots, like potatoes, are allowed to be eaten three months after spraying.

For beans

In order for the beans to grow freely without suffering from weedy annual dicotyledonous and cereal plants, they are also treated with the chemical preparation Gezagard. It will take 200-300 liters of suspension per hectare of land. The procedure is best done two to three days before the emergence of the first shoots.

How to use the drug Gezagard

For the correct use of the drug, you must carefully read the instructions, since the herbicide is, in fact, a toxic chemical. The main requirement is pre-well dug and irrigated land. If at least two leaves appear on the soil, the Gezagard herbicide can be safely put into service.

Agronomists do not recommend putting the pesticide into operation at high temperatures (over thirty degrees Celsius) and with a humidity of over 60 percent. Before using it, it will not be superfluous to find out the weather forecast, since in rainy weather the effectiveness of spraying is always minimal.

Within five days, you cannot water the treated area, and within a month it is not allowed to loosen and huddle the soil near the seedlings.

Precautions for use

When working with a herbicide, you must observe safety precautions:

  • wear closed clothes and boots;
  • cover the face with a respirator or gauze bandage to protect the respiratory system;
  • put gloves on your hands, protecting your skin;
  • on the eyes - safety glasses.

If the drug nevertheless gets on an open area of the body, it must be washed off with plenty of water.

Toxicity degree

In fact, Gezagard is safe for the human body. If you strictly follow the instructions, properly dilute it with water and do not spray it near water bodies, the degree of toxicity will dramatically decrease.

Compatibility with other drugs

The tool "gets along well" with other drugs. It is only necessary to adhere to the rules when preparing the working solution. To do this, first, the herbicide Gezagard is poured into the container, diluted with the required amount of water and only at the end the remaining pesticides are added.

Storage rules and periods

The herbicide can be stored in an airtight container for up to three years. The temperature of the room where it is contained should not exceed plus 35 degrees. Access of children and animals to the drug is strictly prohibited.

Equivalent means

Among herbicides, in addition to Gezagard, among the most popular are such chemical agents as Lontrel, Granstar, Uragan, Bazagran. The reaction to them will be revealed after three or four days. Weed vegetation on the treated area will completely disappear.
